wesleynotponcy | OOC: Info Post, Summer II 2010

Meet Wesley-Wyndam Pryce! You'll know him from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel canon, although this Wes hasn't had the Angel stuff happen yet. If you're not familiar with him at all, here's a basic overview. Even if you do know him from canon, this timeline's a little screwy, so here's his backstory.

Background-wise, Wes:

- Is 17 and a junior.
- Trained to be a Watcher (someone who instructs vampire slayers re: different types of demons, strategies for killing them, etc.) at the prestigious Watcher's Council in England. Yep, he's English.
- Made Deputy Head Boy at the Watcher's Academy during his sophomore year, and had the best marks of anyone in his class.
- Has a father who is not very nice to him and talks down his achievements.
- In a divergence from actual Buffy canon, this Wes was stationed on the Hellmouth in Sunnydale as a trainee this past spring, not as a real Watcher. He made some mistakes he won't talk about, including one of his slayers turning evil, so the Watcher's Council kicked him out. In typical disapproving fashion, Wes' father sent him to Fandom to get him as far away as possible, and now Wesley, shamed and regretful, is trying to do better here.

Personality-wise, Wes:

- Is bumbling, kind of pompous, and generally in the habit of tripping all over himself.
- Has a good heart and moral compass. He also has a particularly grateful streak when it comes to his benefactors. In other words, he's kind to everyone, but people who are nice to him will be especially compensated.
- Isn't used to having friends, but has nothing against the concept. Just that people back home and in Sunnydale weren't exactly jumping all over themselves to hang out with him.
- Falls into his pompous persona when he's around people, but if corrected or admonished he'll freak out and start stammering apologies. He has a huge inferiority complex thanks to his dad and is consequently pretty skittish around most people, especially when he's already embarrassed himself or messed up around them.
- Has a killer hand with weapons - swords, knives, and especially guns. He has perfect marksmanship.
- Speaks any human language you could possibly know, and most demon languages too. Fluently.
- Knows a ton of stuff about most supernatural fields, and has access to texts and contacts that provide him with any info he doesn't already know.
- Enjoys: reading for pleasure and for research, being right or in any way helpful, shooting/killing things, not embarrassing himself, showing off, people being nice to him.
- Does not enjoy: being wrong, being held captive (he'd kind of like to keep his kneecaps), knowing something but not being able to share it, knowing something potentially harmful and having to share it, any kind of confrontations, people with hostile personalities, his father.
